Education Grand Rounds: Entrustable Professional Activities In-Person
Medical training is now centered on Entrustable Professional Activities. Understanding how assessment of and for learning contributes to the successful deployment within departments and clerkship can lead to successful implementation of this competency based program. By the end of this session, participants will be able to:
- Explore the components of a program of assessment of and for learning using Entrustable Professional Activities
- Examine the importance of workplace based assessment in trust based decision making about learner performance
- Describe the roles of students and of teachers in implementing EPA assessments and how data can be used by both to advance learning
- Outline lessons learned from implementation of the UVA EPA Program highlighting tools and resources used to collect and display data
