Generative Dialogue: Turning Talk into Action

Generative Dialogue: Turning Talk into Action Online

Great conversations don’t just exchange information—they spark insight, connection, and forward movement. In this interactive session, faculty will explore how generative questions can transform everyday interactions into opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and progress. Participants will analyze examples, practice crafting and using generative questions, and reflect on how to bring these strategies into their teaching, mentoring, and leadership conversations.

By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the characteristics and purpose of generative questions within academic and professional dialogue.
  • Apply techniques for crafting and using generative questions to foster more engaging, solution-oriented conversations.
  • Demonstrate skill in facilitating generative dialogue that promotes mutual understanding, shared ownership, and actionable outcomes.
