Empowering Learners: Integrating Adult Learning Theory, Universal Design Theory, Psychological Safety, and Growth Mindset In-Person

Creating an effective learning environment goes beyond delivering content—it requires a deep understanding of how adults learn, thoughtful instructional design, and a supportive atmosphere that encourages growth. This interactive session will integrate key learning theories, including Universal Design for Learning (UDL), adult learning principles, psychological safety, and growth mindset, to explore how motivation, experience, and self-direction shape engagement. Through case studies and hands-on discussions, participants will develop strategies to apply these principles in their teaching, fostering inclusive, dynamic, and psychologically safe learning spaces.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Integrate principles of adult learning, UDL, psychological safety, and growth mindset to design engaging and inclusive learning experiences.
  • Facilitate psychologically safe learning environments by applying strategies that encourage risk-taking, collaboration, and constructive feedback.
  • Adapt teaching approaches in real-time by assessing learner needs and modifying instructional strategies to enhance motivation and engagement.
