Join us for the Implementing Patient Quality and Safety Workshop. Understand key factors for implementing the patient equity wheel in clinical settings, explore various implementation models through case study scenarios, and complete patient equity wheel worksheets. Equip yourself with practical tools to enhance patient care excellence. 

 

Learning Objectives: 

  • Participants will understand how to apply the key factors relevant to implementing a CMS patient quality and safety model in a clinical setting and incorporate these principles into the learning environment.  

  • Participants will recognize strategies to identify and mediate the effect of heuristics in clinical settings  

  • Participants will practice applying/utilizing new skills and tools in simulation scenarios. 

 

Badging and CE Credit: 

  • If you complete all three sessions, you are eligible to receive:

    • Intermediate Badge: Patient Quality and Safety for Optimal Patient Outcomes
    •  VCU CE Credits: 0.3 (these CE credits are distributed from the University CE office only) 
       
  • If you complete all three sessions and submit a proposal for a measurable project to improve quality and safety in your department (with the support of your chair), and your proposal is approved, you are eligible to receive:

    • Advanced Badge: Patient Quality and Safety for Optimal Patient Outcomes
    • The office will provide program support ($500) to up to three approved proposals to help implement and evaluate the project
