The Health Sciences Career Community Leadership & Development Committee, in collaboration with our Community Service Committee, is thrilled to announce a partnership with the Department of Workforce & Career Development & Technical Education to conduct mock interviews. This initiative provides a fantastic opportunity for students to enhance their interviewing skills and prepare for future career opportunities.

Location: Innovation Core, ACE Center at Highland Springs (100 Tech Drive · Highland Springs, VA 23075)

Date: February 14, 2025 (200 high school junior students)

Schedule

Optional - Tour of the Facilities 10:30 -11:15 AM

Start Time: 11:30 AM

End Time: 3:00 PM

Break Time: 12:50-1:15 PM each day.

•           Please arrive 15-30 minutes early for check-in and orientation. After check-in, you will be directed to your assigned interview station inside the Innovation Core.

•           Each interview will be 10 minutes, followed by 5 minutes of feedback. There's a 5-minute transition between students for scoring.

Your Role

As an interviewer, you will be assigned to a table where you will conduct mock interviews with students. Your primary tasks will include:

•           Conducting Interviews: Review the student's resume and ask questions based on the provided interview questions and job descriptions.

•           Providing Feedback: After each interview, take a moment to provide constructive feedback to each student, identifying both strengths and areas for improvement.

•           Scoring: You will score students on a scale of 1-5 in key areas, including Professionalism, Communication, Content Knowledge, Body Language, and Overall Impression.
