This year's digital media sessions will feature six engaging presentations (three on 6/28 and three on 7/26) showcasing tools that enable faculty to "design, publish, and connect" with technologies in medical education. Jointly presented with the VCU ALTLab and VCU Libraries' Innovative Media department, these interactive workshops will explore tools and apps for illustrations, audio podcasting, video production, web conferencing and online professional development. You are welcome to attend one or all sessions.  Please bring a laptop for hands-on activities. Times are as follows:

On Friday, June 28, three interactive workshops will be hosted in McGlothlin 7-101:

Infographic Design (12p - 1:15p)
Tom Woodward, MA, Associate Director of Innovation, VCU ALTLab

• Discover an easy, creative approach to transform data in to captivating graphics for posters, presentations and handouts using web-based tools like Canva and Piktochart.
• Identify visual resources, including illustrations and high-quality clipart, that can be used in PowerPoint and other design-based programs. 

Podcast Publishing, (1:30p - 2:45p)

• Identify the steps of recording audio-based presentations such as podcasts, lectures, and public-service announcements for multimedia web-based publishing.
• Identify tools and resources that can assist faculty and students with multimedia projects.

Making Videos with VCU Kaltura (3:00p - 4:15p),

• Recognize the process for producing micro-lectures (screencasts) and web-based videos for teaching and learning using the VCU Kaltura platform.
