Lunchtime Learning: Acting Up! Promoting Inclusion in Medical Education with Theatre Pedagogies In-Person
In this interactive workshop, grounded in principles from the Theatre of the Oppressed movement, participants will engage in a variety of embodied and reflective activities that promote inclusion, engagement, and dialogue among learners. By the end of this workshop, participants will be able to:
- Identify three theater-based strategies that can be used to ignite and advance critical discourse;
- Practice a variety of theater-based strategies that can be used in classroom, clinical, and/or community learning spaces;
- Describe the potential impact to learner/audience engagement when using embodied and reflective activities with diverse learners; and
- Assess the opportunities and challenges when using theater pedagogies for medical education.
