Lunch & Learn - Building Your Web: Cultivating Your Network Web for Career Success In-Person

In today’s academic medical environment, success depends on more than individual effort—it thrives within a complex matrix of relationships, roles, and resources. This interactive 75-minute workshop will help faculty understand the ecosystem in which they work and explore the various mentoring models that support professional growth. Participants will learn what constitutes a developmental network, why it matters, and how to strategically outline, build, and sustain their own network. Through guided discussion and practical exercises, attendees will leave with actionable steps to strengthen their connections and advance their careers. Lunch will be provided.

By the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Describe the organizational matrix and identify how it influences mentoring relationships and career development.
  • Differentiate among various mentoring models and explain how each can support professional growth.
  • Develop a personalized plan to build and sustain a developmental network that aligns with their career goals.
